A spin off from the popular Arreton Film Strap. A single leather utility rig built specifically for photographers who venture out with just two rolls of film. One in the camera and one in the can ready for change. To be hooked close by your side either on your belt loop or outside your bag. Once your film is shot simply remove your exposed film and keep it safe in the screw lid canister and load your fresh film into your camera.

To give these tidy little units some separation from the Arreton (3 film holder), we used a different colour stitching. Red for the Black strap and Black for the Satchel Tan strap.

Why I use this film strap?

When I venture out with just two rolls of film I will load one in the camera ready to shoot and the other I place in the Merstone Film Strap and attach it 'usually' on the outside of my bag where I can quickly access my new roll for swapping over. If I travel light and don't need a bag I just attach it to my jacket or belt loop.

The strap also has a sewn in spring gated hoop at one end for attaching any accessories such as a pocket light meter, keys or GPS tracker.

Handcrafted Leather: Full-grain Italian Buttero vegetable-tanned leather (supple, durable, and develops a rich patina with use). Hand saddle-stitched with heavy-duty bonded thread and beeswax-burnished edges.
Canisters: 1x knurled-rim, screw-top aluminium tin (lightweight, dust-resistant, and crush-proof).
Hardware & Versatility: Antiqued bronze hardware including a heavy-duty swivel clasp, Chicago screw anchor and solid black gated ring. Clip directly to camera bag straps, rucksack exterior lash points, or your belt for immediate access during a shoot. I often use mine outside my bag where I can go straight to my film.
Film to Hand: Each rig comes complete with a threaded aluminium canister fitted with custom matte vinyl label. Designed specifically for use with wet-erase markers, they allow you to note your loaded stock, ISO rating, or push/pull notes on the go, wiping clean when you reload.
Size: Strap width is approx. 20mm. Strap length is approx. 130mm with hardware. Leather thickness is 3mm.
Care: Every strap is conditioned on both sides with traditional Effax Leder-Balsam to lock in natural moisture and bring out a rich protective finish. The edges are beveled, hand-sanded, burnished with Tokonole, and high-friction canvas buffed to a smooth finish designed to last a lifetime.
